About Us

The Teddington Hands Inn (formerly known as The Cross Hands At Teddington) originally stood on the crossroads of the Stow Road and Evesham Road.

The earliest record of the building as a pub was in 1893 when it was classified as a Wayside Inn. The present owners have unearthed some old photographs, including the one picture right, which probably dates in the late 1930's and shows an RAC Patrolman standing near the pub just below the crossroads, presumably to direct traffic.

Your Hosts   The Teddington Hands Inn is run by Peter Crooks, his partner Heather Vondrak and Heather's son Ben James who is Head Chef. Prior to taking over at The Teddington Hands, Peter was a police officer for twenty-seven years while Heather was an accountant. Ben has worked in several reputable restaurants in London, Solihull and Henly-In-Arden. They believe in offering the optimum customer experience at all times and operate in line with the following mission statement: "Reputation comes from quality. Customers come from reputation". Peter is pictured above being interviewed recently when BBC Radio Gloucestershire's roving reporter Jo Durrant paid The Teddington Hands a visit (click on the picture to zoom in).
